Polyethylene, of the polyolefin group, is a product with a low specific weight, poor absorption of humidity, excellent resistance to chemical agents. The mechanical characteristics are lower than those of polypropylene, but it is extremely resistant to shocks even at low temperatures. There are various types of polyethylene in relation to their molecular weight and the characteristics vary accordingly. The most valuable types are those with the highest molecular weight. Polyethylene has a wide range of applications, the main one being the chemical and electrolysis industry (containers, gas purifiers, reaction and settling tanks, suction systems, coatings, etc.). It is also used in the mechanical industry (coatings, protections, hoods, tanks); in the refrigeration and food industry. It is a material that works well mechanically; excellent weldability.
